Please join the Wayzata Police Department for a benefit of Officer Bill Mathews on November 17, 2017 from 5-10 p.m. at the Wayzata American Legion. The cost is $20 at the door for a broasted chicken dinner. In May 2018, the Mathews family, along with members of the Wayzata Police Department, will travel to Washington D.C. for Police Week and the events surrounding National Peace Officer’s Memorial Day on May 15, 2018. At the event, Officer Mathews name will be added to the over 20,000 other officers on the National Peace Officers Memorial that have gone on before him in paying the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. All the proceeds from the benefit event will help off-set the costs for the family and department traveling to Washington. Thank you for your continued support!

Public Works

2017-18 Pond Maintenance Project – Glenbrook Ponding Area

Because of warmer temperatures and the early onset of seasonal road restrictions, the contractor was not able to complete this work in early 2017.  The contractor will begin silt fence installation, next week, in preparation for completing the project this coming winter. The project proposes to remove accumulated sediment from the storm water basins, known locally as the Glenbrook Ponds.  The ponds were originally constructed in 1993-94 by the City of Wayzata and the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) and are located between Wayzata Blvd and Highway 12.  An updated schedule for construction activities will be available in the coming weeks.

Employment Opportunity – Streets Department

The Public Works Department is actively searching for a person to fill a vacancy in the Street Department.
A copy of the job posting, as well as a copy of the job description can be found at www.wayzata.org/employment. Completed applications are due by Wednesday, November 22nd at 4:00 p.m.
