The City of Wayzata has completed a draft of its 2040 Comprehensive Plan and submitted the draft to the Metropolitan Council in July, 2019. The Met Council recently provided feedback on the draft Plan and the City is currently reviewing these comments. The Comprehensive Plan presents a vision for the future of Wayzata, describes aspirations for community development, and is an important tool for guiding the growth, redevelopment, and improvement of Wayzata. It consists of goals, objectives, policy statements, standards, and maps for guiding the physical, social, and economic development of the City and its environs. The plan is made up of a series of sections: land use, housing, transportation, natural resources, historic preservation, and community facilities.
