Temporary Public Service Worker

The City of Wayzata is accepting employment applications for two (2) Temporary Public Service Workers in the Public Works Department.  This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, evenings and weekends may occur.  Scheduled work runs from April/May through August/September.

General Duties

Performs a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks associated with the day-to-day maintenance of parks, beaches, athletic fields, public grounds, play structures, trails, recreation sites, park structures and associated amenities.  Operates a wide range of motorized and non-motorized equipment and tools; performs inspection and maintenance on tools and equipment that is assigned; performs a variety of snow plowing tasks, operation of light and heavy equipment and other equipment as necessary, assists other departments when assigned; and performs a variety of maintenance tasks associated with the day to day operations. 

Minimum Requirements

Possession of valid driver's license and good driving record; must be 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions,  light to heavy physical labor with ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
