Community Service Officer (part-time)

The City of Wayzata is now accepting employment applications for the position of a Community Service Officer (CSO).

General Duties:

The Community Service Officer position is a part-time position that provides support services to all divisions of the police department and performs tasks assigned by a superior officer.  Duties will include fingerprinting, ferrying squads for service, equipment maintenance, traffic direction, vehicle lockouts, respond to medical emergencies, animal complaints, and enforcement of parking laws, city ordinances, and property codes. The Community Service Officer works under the direction of the Police Sergeant and under the general direction of the Police Chief.  This position will work 24 hours per week with some flexibility in scheduling.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license and a good driving record at the time of appointment 
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation.
