235 & 239 Lake St E - Melvin’s 235 Office Building
Proposal to by the owner of the Melvin’s 235 office building currently under construction at 235 and 239 Lake Street East to replace 300 square feet of office space and 2 parking stalls in the building with an additional elevator. A Conditional Use Permit (CUP) under the City's Fee-In-Lieu of Parking Policy (FILOP) was approved by the City Council on April 21, 2020 (Resolution 16-2020) to meet the project's parking requirement shortfall of up to 73 parking stalls. With this request, the shortfall would increase by 2 stalls to 75 parking stalls.

Amendment to Existing Conditional Use Permit for Fee In Lieu of Parking (FILOP)
The proposed three-story office building received zoning approvals in October, 2018. It included approval for a Planned Unit Development (PUD) General Plan, Design Review, Variance for Building Height, Shoreland Impact Plan/Conditional Use Permit for Building Height, and Rezoning to PUD District. In 2020, the property owner received approval of a Conditional Use Permit Amendment for Fee In Lieu of Parking (FILOP) and a Final Plat.
