The Wayzata Police Department is preparing to start a body worn camera program in 2020. The Minnesota Legislature has provided guidelines for law enforcement agencies who are establishing a body worn camera program and how to develop a policy. Public input is one of the important factors in this process, so the City hosted two ways to submit feedback on the draft policy in October 2020.

Participate in the October 6, 2020 Public Hearing. At the October 6, 2020 City Council meeting, the body worn camera policy was discussed at a public hearing conducted virtually using the platform Zoom.
