The Wayzata Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider a development application from the applicant(s) David & Cathy Whiting to remove the existing home and build a new single-family home. The application includes the following:
Variance from the Shoreland Overlay minimum setback requirement. The proposed variance would be a 49 feet setback reduction to allow the new home to have a setback of 105.4 feet from the ordinary high-water line instead of the 154.4-foot minimum requirement.
Conditional Use Permit for the height of two chimneys. The conditional use permit would allow the new home to have two chimneys that exceed the 40-foot maximum height requirement. The primary chimney would have a height of 44 feet, 11 inches and the secondary chimney would have a height of 43 feet, 3 inches.
