2020 Construction Projects

Several projects are being planned in and around Wayzata, for 2020.  A summary of the larger activities follows:
  • Lake Effect – Lake Street (Broadway Ave to Ferndale Road) – This project will include the reconstruction of Lake Street E from Broadway Avenue to Ferndale Road.  The project will include the replacement of the roadway and sidewalks, the addition of a dedicated bike trail, the replacement of watermain from Broadway Ave to Manitoba Ave, and the construction of a park/plaza in the location of the existing municipal parking lot.

  • 2020 Sanitary Sewer Lining - The City of Wayzata is planning to perform maintenance on several sewer mains throughout the City. The maintenance includes the lining of the existing sewer main with a Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) liner.  Sewer relining is a quick and economical process in lieu of replacing pipes by open excavation. This process prevents major traffic disruptions and health hazards from potential exposure to raw sewage.  The 2020 project proposes to line approximately 8,800 feet of sewer main in the following areas:  Harmony Circle, Rosswood Lane, Ridgeview Drive, Ridgeview Lane, Margaret Circle, and Shadyway Road, Barry Avenue North, and Gardner Street (east of Barry Ave).
  • 2020 Bituminous Seal Coat - A map of the streets proposed to be seal coated in 2020 can be found below.  Tree trimming may begin along these streets as early as February.
