City of Wayzata selects contractors for Panoway on Wayzata Bay construction

The Wayzata City Council voted Thursday to partner with eight main contractors to provide construction services for the first phase of Panoway on Wayzata Bay, a public/private initiative to restore, protect and enhance the city’s downtown lakefront.
The first phase of construction begins mid-April and includes:

• Reconstructing Lake Street from Barry Avenue to Broadway Avenue to be more pedestrian and bicycle friendly
• Creating a beautiful, multi-use Plaza Park near the lakefront, replacing the existing surface parking lot at Lake Street and Broadway Avenue
• Extending the Dakota Rail Regional Trail safely across Ferndale Road to Broadway Avenue

Stahl Construction was hired in fall 2019 to advise during the most recent round of bidding and provide project management services throughout construction, which has resulted in cost savings. They will oversee the work of the selected contractors.
