Music in the Park and Music by the Lake, CanceledThe 2020 Music in the Park and Music by the Lake series have been canceled because of the Coronavirus Pandemic and the because the Governor's Stay Safe Mn Executive Order prohibits gatherings of more than 10 people.
Music in the Park, sponsored by the Wayzata Parks & Trails Board and Music by the Lake sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wayzata have been popular summer destinations that often attract people from neighboring communities. City staff and the Rotary discussed a variety of scenarios to continue the series and it came down to making the responsible decision to cancel the concerts for the health and safety of the community.
“We know a lot of people in the community were hoping both community music events would continue this summer,” said Mike Kelly, Director of Public Works. “After careful consideration and much thought, it was determined there was no way we could realistically move forward with Music in the Park and Music by the Lake this summer.”
