Thank you for your ongoing patience as crews continue construction on Lake Street. Next week crews will focus on continuing trail and sidewalk construction along Lake Street from Walker Avenue to Broadway Ave (on the north side of Lake Street), and from Barry Ave to Ferndale Road (on the south side of Lake Street). Additional work planned for next week includes installing street light bases and conduits for wiring, pouring curb and gutter, and installing piping for the new irrigation system. Crews will also connect the new watermain to the businesses between Barry and Manitoba avenues.
The City of Wayzata is working with its project manager Stahl Construction to find ways to complete the Lake Street project as soon as possible. The city approved longer hours for construction crews in an effort to accelerate the timeline for the construction project.
If you plan to walk downtown this holiday weekend, please follow the detour signage around the construction site and avoid walking along the railroad tracks to ensure safety. Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!
