Construction work continues full speed ahead on the Lake Street construction project. This week, crews installed sidewalks, street lights, and underground plumbing and electrical for the restroom building at Plaza Park. Next week, crews will continue their work on sidewalks, irrigation, and street lights. Plaza Park is taking shape with the installation of new sidewalks and the foundation for the shade structure. Additionally, In the coming weeks, the bike path between Barry Avenue and Ferndale Road will be paved.”

All businesses on Lake Street will continue to be accessible to pedestrians, and there is ample parking available on adjacent side streets and at the City's Mill Street parking ramp.

Stay safe

The Lake Street construction job site is fenced to ensure safety. The public is not permitted to enter the site. Use of the railroad corridor is prohibited, and is considered to be trespassing. Please follow the posted detour routes for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians, which are the safest routes around the construction zone.
