Progress continues on Lake Street

With significant progress under our belts, construction is proceeding smoothly and quickly. In case you missed it, watch this video to see the work completed so far on Lake Street, the new Park Plaza, and the extension and connection of bike trails.

This past week, crews focused much of their attention on the Park Plaza, working inside the restroom structure and on the interactive water feature, installing lighting and irrigation and pouring concrete. Next week, crews will continue much of this work, while also preparing planting beds, soils, and landscaping.

Please keep in mind that while Lake Street is open to westbound traffic from Broadway to Walker avenues and to two-way traffic between Barry Avenue and Ferndale Road, the area continues to be an active construction site. Be sure to follow the marked detour signs and avoid construction zones. We have installed additional safety lighting and marked a few trip hazards with white and yellow paint. We hope that these extra measures will keep everyone safe as we enjoy our lakefront this summer.
