As we close out the month of July, construction crews are making steady progress on Lake Street, the new Plaza Park and the extension and connection of bike trails. The project remains on track to be substantially complete in early September.
Over the past week, crews have continued work on the sidewalks, lighting systems, irrigation systems and the restroom facility at the Plaza Park. Crews also completed installation of the underground lighting and water equipment for the interactive water feature and construction of the structural roof of the restroom.
In the next several weeks, the focus will shift to landscaping, as crews begin installing sod, trees and planting beds. Additionally, crews will continue work on the shade structure, the restroom facility, and paving the remaining segments of the bike path.
As you visit the lakefront in August, please be sure to follow marked detour signs and avoid construction zones. This will help keep everyone safe as we enjoy the rest of summer!
