Sign Up to Reduce Waste More than one-third of trash is organic material that could be composted. It’s easy to make a difference in reducing waste and protecting the environment by signing up for organics recycling! In organics recycling, you collect food and compostable items in separate Blue Bags that you place in your trash cart. The Blue Bags are later separated from the trash and sent to a compost site, where they are turned in a nutrient-rich soil amendment.
