Become a Night to Unite Block Party Host for Your NeighborhoodNeighborhoods across Wayzata have been gathering to celebrate Night to Unite for more than 40 years! On August 3rd, there will be a kickoff luncheon (more details to come). Later that evening, Wayzata Police, Fire, City staff, elected officials, and McGruff, will visit neighborhood parties throughout Wayzata and Long Lake. Along with the police cars and fire trucks, there will be trinkets for kids and a crime prevention message at each stop. This is a great time to ask questions of elected officials, police officers, firefighters, and City staff.

State Offers Vaccine RewardsThe State of Minnesota is offering rewards for the first 100,000 Minnesotans, aged 12 and older, who get their first COVID-19 vaccine between May 27 through June 30, 2021. Rewards include passes to the Minnesota State Fair, baseball games, Valleyfair and more. The rewards request form will be open on this page from June 1 through June 30.

Farmer's Market Has ReturnedThe Wayzata Farmer's Market returned to Lake Street this week. The market will take place from 1:30 - 5:30 p.m. at 850 Lake Street North at the Promenade.
The market will continue throughout the summer, every Thursday, through September 30th.

Community Development UpdateDevelopment Application Submitted for 163 Wayzata BlvdA development application has been submitted from the applicant TMSC of Wayzata, LLC for a renovation of and addition to the existing building at 163 Wayzata Blvd (formerly operated as Meridian Manor) for a senior living and memory care facility. The proposed plans require a Planned Unit Development Amendment and Design Review. Click here for more information
Development Application Submitted for 16100 Wayzata BlvdA development application has been submitted from the applicant EFN Wayzata Properties, LLC for a variance to place over 150 square feet of total sign area at 16100 Wayzata Blvd. The sign area would include the existing pylon signs on the site and the proposed signs on the exterior façade of the building. The current site is under construction to update the exterior façade.

Public Works UpdatePanoway Splash Pad - NOW OPEN!The Panoway Splash Pad opened on Friday, May 28. It will be operational from 10am – 8pm, daily. Please note: the activation button requires the touch of a bare foot or bare hand.
McCormick’s Beachside Concession - NOW OPEN! The McCormick’s concession stand opened at Wayzata Beach on Tuesday, June 1. Their menu will consist of Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Chili Cheese Dogs, Lobster Rolls, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, and Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Possible Construction Impacts This Month

Circle A Sidewalk Complete & Hollybrook Road Sidewalk BeginsThe construction of a sidewalk along Circle A Dive is nearly complete. The contractor has now begun utility work on Hollybrook Road to make room for the sidewalk in that location. This project will continue through June.

MnDOT Highway 12 Maintenance near CR 101 and Gleason Lake RoadMnDOT Crews will by laying an aggregate layer to get a little more life out of the road. This will require the road to be reduced to two lanes between Central Ave/County Road 101 and Gleason Lake Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly June 1-15. Crews will have to come back at the end of June to put down stripes during off-peak hours.
