boat slips

Apply Now for the 2022 Boat Slip Lottery 

The City maintains a 100 boat slip marina located at Barry Avenue and Grove Lane. Applications for a boat slip must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of February. Multiple chances will be given for each consecutive year the applicant has applied for a boat slip permit.

Open to Business provides free, confidential business counseling to current and prospective entrepreneurs. Their experienced consultants work with small business owners to access the technical assistance and financing options needed to succeed. Open to Business partners with cities and counties to make free services available to entrepreneurs and small businesses located throughout the Twin Cities metro area.

Light Up the Lake Celebration
Kickoff the Holidays in Wayzata on November 26th!
Join us from 4:30-7 PM for reindeer, letters to Santa, hot cocoa, treats, holiday music, magical wagon rides on Lake Street, a candy cane hunt and more. There will be a tree and town lighting ceremony with the Mayor and a parade of lights down Lake Street hosted by the Wayzata Fire Department. We hear Santa willbe making an appearance on his sleigh!

Community Development Update

Section Foreman House Restoration

Stakeholders for the Section Foreman House restoration and reuse, including the City and resident Design Committee, are currently working with architecture firm Cushing Terrell to envision the future of the house as a lakefront learning center. The team is meeting multiple times per month to progress the goals and design of the project. Recent and upcoming meetings are discussing the intended “look and feel” of the site given its history and relation to the Panoway, Eco Park, and Boardwalk.

Proposals Under Review

Development Application for Cantissimo Senior Living

A development application has been submitted by the applicant(s) Pillar/Senior Lifestyle Living LLC to construct a new 40-unit, 2-story assisted living facility at 15419/15429 Wayzata Blvd and 1405 Holdridge Terrace. The applicant is requesting a Comprehensive Plan Amendment and a Planned Unit Development Concept Plan. The Planning Commission will be evaluating the proposal at their December 6 meeting.

Public Works Update

Where to Take Your Yard Waste

The Wayzata compost site is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for Holidays. The compost site also will be open weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) in October and the first 2 weekends in November from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents are required to unbag all materials and are asked to take empty bags home for reuse or disposal.  Click here to learn more
