Development Proposal for 900 Wayzata Blvd (Wells Fargo)
A development application has been approved for 900 Wayzata Blvd, currently home to a Wells Fargo bank. The project team is proposing a 67-unit apartment building, 9 attached townhomes, a 34,000 square foot office building, and a 5,500 square foot Wells Fargo bank. The majority of parking will be underground.
The City Council voted 4-1 to approve the proposal at their July 19 meeting.
Proposals Under Review
NEW – 341 Ramsey Road A revised development application has been submitted at 341 Ramsey Road for an attached garage requiring variances for rear yard setback, hardcover, and lot coverage. The owners previously submitted a similar application that was recommended for denial by the Planning Commission this spring. The revised application for the garage requires one less variance.
The Planning Commission will discuss the application at their August 15 meeting.830 Lake St (Baja Haus) – Patio ApplicationA development application has been submitted for Baja Haus, a restaurant located in the Village Shoppes at 830 Lake St E. Baja Haus is seeking to create a yearly patio that occupies four parking spaces outside the restaurant. The previous patio was permitted under the City’s pandemic relief policies.
The Planning Commission recommended approval at their July 18 meeting. 1022 Wayzata Boulevard – Revised Application A revised development application has been submitted at 1022 Wayzata Blvd, the former gas station next to Edina Realty. The applicant is proposing to combine the northern and southern parcels and pursue a rezoning/Comprehensive Plan Amendment in order to support a future retail tenant. The previous proposal for this property, for a Caribou Cabin/Urban Wok, was denied earlier this year.
The Planning Commission recommended approval at their July 18 meeting. 344 Ferndale Road North – SubdivisionA development application has been submitted at 344 Ferndale Road North, currently the site of one single family home. The owners propose to split the existing lot into two, keep their current house, and build a new home on the second parcel. A detached garage would be demolished.
The Planning Commission will discuss the application at their August 1st meeting.
