Spam Phone Calls

It has been brought to our attention that residents are receiving phone calls and voicemails from individuals claiming to be Wayzata Police Officers. While officers can reach out from their work-issued phone numbers, sometimes scammers try to impersonate us. If you are in doubt, check it out! Here are some helpful tips to verify if an officer is trying to contact you:

- Officers will never solicit funds from you

- Officers will never threaten or harass you

- Officers have voicemails set up identifying who they are 

- Verify officers through the Wayzata Police Department Office at 952-404-5340

- Verify officers through Hennepin County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 952-258-5321
