Preserving Wayzata's Tree CanopyTree Removal Permits If you are removing a tree that is 6 inches or greater in diameter at breast height (DBH), a Tree Removal Permit is required. Please visit wayzata.org/permits to submit a permit application. If you hire a contractor, they must be licensed to conduct professional tree work in Wayzata and must be approved by the City with proof of bond and insurance. To request a list of contractors approved by the City, call 952-404-5300 or view the list at wayzata.org. If you have questions about a tree on private property, call the City Forester at 612-456-5999. Give Special Attention to Your Oak Trees This Year Our community’s oak trees are stressed! After three harsh years of drought, Wayzata’s bur, white, and red oaks are struggling to fight off even minor problems. In response, the City has expanded its agreement with Rainbow Treecare to provide free evaluations and discounted treatment rates to its residents. Celebrate the Opening of the Lakewalk on Saturday, July 13Celebrate the grand opening of the Panoway Lakewalk and Docks! A formal ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Panoway Plaza followed by a ceremonial “first walk” on the Lakewalk. Family-friendly activities will begin at noon and will include food, music, boat rides, art, free ice cream for kids, a project walking tour, and more!
