A Message from Mayor Mullin

March is here, and spring is just around the corner! February was a busy month for the City Council. We focused on exploring potential changes to local ordinances regarding speed, noise, loitering, and exhibition driving. We also discussed Council priorities for the remainder of the year and identified topics for deeper discussion at our midyear strategic planning retreat. Other February highlights include:

  • Approving the Wayzata Yacht Club’s plan to move some boat storage from buoys to slips.
  • Receiving the 2024 Annual Report update and formal reviews from our boards and commissions.
  • Approving a community engagement plan that includes meetings with City Leadership in each of our primary neighborhoods.
  • Reviewing the charitable impact of the Wayzata Lions and the Wayzata Legion, following the addition of another charitable gambling pull tab license in our community.
  • Continuing to refine our approach at the State Capitol and engaging with the business community about the possibility of a local area sales tax to support Public Safety and Parks.

I’d love to hear from you! Please join me on Monday, March 10, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Wayzata Bar and Grill to discuss any topics of interest regarding Wayzata.
