A Message from Mayor Mullin
Wayzata’s first 90 days of the year have been packed with important work for your City Leadership! Here’s a quick recap:
Financial Focus
- Preparing for Hennepin County’s 2025 Property Value Assessments and the Board of Appeal process.
- Reviewing our Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts to maximize public benefit.
- Exploring a potential Local Area Sales Tax for Food and Beverage to support Police, Fire, and Parks.
Development
Review of new development applications at 641Lake Street East (Foremerly Caribou Coffee) & 200 Lake Street East (Formerly TCF Bank Headquarters) and an estate subdivision at 565 Ferndale Road West.
Preparing for Our Busy Season
Our Police Department has been actively engaged with City Leadership in planning to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone particularly in our downtown. This includes exploring options for increased police presence and considering potential updates to our city ordinances. We’re addressing concerns related to safety, noise, loitering, speeding, and more, to maintain a harmonious and secure community.
I’d love to hear from you! Please join me on Monday, April 14, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Wayzata Bar and Grill to discuss any topics of interest regarding Wayzata at the next Mayor Muni Meet Up.
