A Message from the Mayor

As November arrives and we approach the close of 2025, my thoughts turn naturally to gratitude. While Thanksgiving is the most obvious prompt for reflection—a time to gather with friends and family and focus on our blessings—I see this entire season as one for appreciation right here in Wayzata. I want to take this opportunity to recognize the incredible people who make our city such a beautiful, safe, clean, and welcoming place to live, work, and visit. My deepest thanks go to those who dedicate their time and talent to serving Wayzata:

  • Our City Staff: Thank you to our nearly 200 full and part-time employees who are on the front lines every day, ensuring our city operations run smoothly.
  • Our Boards and Commissions: We are profoundly grateful for the nearly 50 residents who volunteer their time to guide the governance of our city. This includes

the Planning Commission, HRA, HPB, Charter, Parks & Trails, Energy & Environment, the Wayzata Conservancy, and our newly chartered Public Art Committee. We look forward to celebrating all of our amazing volunteers at our recognition dinner later this month!

I look forward to seeing many of you at Light up the Lake! Personally, I’m thankful for my family, friends, and my faith community, but most of all, I’m grateful for the incredible
community we share here in Wayzata, which offers so much to each and every one of us. What are you grateful for in Wayzata this year? Drop me a note—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
