Central Avenue Bridge Over Highway 12

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is continuing its work on the Central Avenue / County Road 101 bridge over Highway 12. The bridge will remain closed until late October, but the on- and off-ramps on the east side of the bridge are scheduled to reopen on August 12. The ramps on the west side of the bridge will remain closed until late October. For more detailed information on the project, please visit the project website.

Wayzata and Superior Boulevard Intersection

While work on this project is mostly complete, the project has been paused due to a delay in the availability of the permanent traffic signal poles. The contractor expects to install these signal poles in late August and place the final layer of pavement. In the meantime, the intersection will continue to be controlled by the temporary traffic signal system, with all lanes expected to be open to traffic. Thank you for your patience.

Lake Street

We are currently accepting construction bids for this project to reconstruct Lake Street from Broadway Avenue to Barry Avenue. This construction includes the first phase of work to bring the Wayzata Lake Effect to life, better preserving our Lake Minnetonka shoreline for generations to come. Lake Street will be reconstructed to be more pedestrian and bicycle friendly. A beautiful, multi-use plaza park will be added near the lakefront, replacing the existing surface parking lot at Lake Street and Broadway Avenue and providing additional gathering space for events and activities year-round. Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-September.
