MnDOT bridge project to continue into November

MnDOT continues to work on the replacement of the Central Avenue / County Road 101 bridge over Highway 12. The bridge will remain closed until early November.

The ramps on the east side of the bridge are now open. The ramps on the west side of the bridge are scheduled to open on October 25. Next week, the contractor plans to begin pouring the concrete for the new bridge deck.

For more detailed information on the project, please visit the project webpage. We will continue to provide updates via the City website, social media, etc., as additional information becomes available.

Lake Street project update

The reconstruction of Lake Street from Broadway Avenue to Barry Avenue and the construction of a plaza was originally planned to begin in mid-September, but due to higher than expected bid prices, the project start has been delayed until early 2020.

The City is sending out a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a project manager that would manage the Lake Street project. The project manager would oversee the Lake Street project from start to finish, as well as the second bid process that will occur this winter.
