thank you for your patience

Thanks for your patience!

Barring any changes to the construction schedule, the City of Wayzata and the Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting on Monday, November 18 at 9 a.m. to celebrate the anticipated opening of the Central Avenue bridge over Highway 12. The project marks the end of a particularly busy construction season, with work also completed on the intersection at Wayzata/Superior boulevards. Following a short program, city, county and business leaders will hand out treats at each on- and off-ramp on the bridge to thank residents and commuters for their patience during construction.

Lake Effect – Lake Street (Broadway Ave to Barry Ave)

On Thursday, November 14, the City hosted the Minnesota House Capital Investment Committee at the Wayzata Depot to learn more about the Lake Effect Project. The City also hosted the Minnesota Senate Capital Investment Committee last month. On Monday, staff will be presenting information about the project to Governor Walz's office.

The project will include the reconstruction of Lake Street East from Broadway Avenue to Barry Avenue, as well as the addition of a dedicated bike trail, the replacement of watermain from Broadway Avenue to Manitoba Avenue, and the construction of a park/plaza in the location of the existing municipal parking lot. The City will likely seek bids from construction firms in early 2020, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2020.
