History of Klapprich Field
Named after Edmund F. Klapprich of Wayzata after City Council passed a resolution to name the recreation area Klapprich Field in April of 1955 in appreciation to his time and improvements of the facilities.
Klapprich Park Location & Features
Klapprich Park is located near the water tower off of Wayzata Boulevard East at 340 Park Street East between Minnetonka Avenue North and Barry Avenue North. This park has playground equipment and 2 picnic tables (no grilling facilities.)
Klapprich Field Location & Features
The softball field is located near the water tower off of Wayzata Boulevard East.
This park has a winter ice skating rink, an ice hockey rink, and a warming house that is open during ice hockey and ice skating season. An outdoor fireplace enhances enjoyment in the cold weather. During the summer, the hockey rink is used as an off leash dog park.
Rental Facilities
Klapprich Park and Field facilities are available for rental from May to November, weather-dependent. Please contact the City of Wayzata’s Parks Department at 952-404-5366 to make your reservation request.
Warming House
The Warming House is located at 340 Park Street E and hours are as follows:
Monday - Friday
3 - 10 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday
10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
When school is not in session the Warming House is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
