A Message from the Mayor - City Manager Selected

After a highly competitive national search, I am incredibly proud to share that the City Council has selected Aurora Yager to be Wayzata’s next City Manager. Following our final round of interviews last week, we are set to officially appoint her and finalize her contract at our upcoming City Council meeting on March 10.

Many of you have already had the pleasure of working with Aurora. She has been a steady, guiding hand as our Interim City Manager since October 2025, and previously served with dedication as our Deputy City Manager starting in 2019. Backed by a decade of local government experience and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Kansas, Aurora brings exactly the kind of dynamic leadership and collaborative spirit our city needs right now.

Finding the right person for this role was a community effort. We conducted a rigorous recruitment process that involved multiple rounds of interviews and screenings. I want to thank the City Staff, community members, and my fellow Council members who participated—your collective input was invaluable in helping us identify the priorities we needed in our next leader. Aurora truly stood out among a fantastic group of both internal and external candidates.

Aurora is just as eager to get started, sharing: “I am truly honored to have been selected to serve as Wayzata’s next City Manager. I look forward to continuing to serve this special community and helping lead Wayzata into its next chapter alongside our exceptional City staff and dedicated City Council.”

As she steps into this position, she succeeds Jeffrey Dahl, who served our city well for over nine years before accepting the city administrator role in Woodbury last July.

The Council and I are looking forward to this next chapter, and we are excited to continue working alongside Aurora. I hope you will all join me in congratulating her on the new role!

Walser Lamborghini - 1022 & 1042 Wayzata Blvd E.

On Tuesday February 24, 2026 the City Council reviewed a proposal from Walser Automotive to construct a 8,800+ sq. ft. Lamborghini dealership at 1022 and 1042 Wayzata Blvd. E. The project included several actions for platting, PUD zoning, variances, deigns deviations and vacation of easements. After deliberation, the Council approved the proposal. Final steps for the project are a PUD and Development agreement, and vacation of easements between the two lots.
